Greenplant were more than happy to sponsor and support the Aston Hill 100. A special one-off centenary event for a relic of pre-war British Motorsport.

To many, Aston Hill near Halton in Buckinghamshire is just a winding road up a hill. However, the site was host to many hill climb racing events between 1904 and 1925. Hill climb racing is a time trial event where cars race individually up a hill for the best time. It is one of the oldest forms of motorsport competition and tests driving ability on tight, winding tracks where margins are fine.

Aston Hill Climb was the inspiration behind the 'Aston' part of the Aston Martin name

The Aston hill climb was a favourite of a certain car designer by the name of Lionel Martin, who partook in many events at the hill in his own machinery. He would go on to develop the Aston Martin brand, Aston Hill inspired the name. A plaque stands at the top of the hill commemorating Lionel Martin.

Jump forward 100 years and Greenplant are helping to bring the past back to life. The Aston Hill 100 featured cars ranging from the 1910s to 1979, with the vintage cars taking to the track like those before. Many classic cars were on show beside Greenplant’s tent, showcasing a variety of the tools available to hire.

Ultimately, the event was a roaring success with vintage cars shining in the summer sun. Greenplant are proud to support historic events such as the Aston Hill 100 and enjoy promoting local sports teams and events. See our community page for full details.
