Whipchecks (or whip checks) are safety restraints used on high-pressure or high-volume hoses (such as air compressor or demolition hammer hoses). They are a last line of defence designed to prevent a hose from violently thrashing or "whipping" around if a coupling accidentally disconnects or bursts while under pressure.
